Naomi Judd
Naomi Judd, CIG, was first inspired by the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and her persuit of the mountains continued in the White Mountains of New Hampshire where she grew up and has hiked most of the 48 peaks above 4,000 feet.
She currently spends her days in Juneau, Alaska where she spent two seasons guiding on the Mendenhall Glacier and currently guides hikes through the rainforest of Southeast Alaska. Naomi recieved her BA in Adventure Writing, a self designed degree from Plymouth State University.
Naomi is a freelance writer, naturalist and guide based in Juneau, Alaska. Her writing ranges from news articles to narrative essays and nature writing, as well as book reviews and editorial work. She specializes in nature/adventure writing inspired by the beautiful world around her, from sea to summit. Naomi has been published in Tidal Echoes, Centripetal, Boat Broker Outdoors and several other publications. She steadily writes for Capital City Weekly, Southeast Alaska's largest distributed community paper.
She is a certified Wilderness First Responder, Avalanche Level I cert., a Swiftwater Rescue Technician and a certified Interpretive Guide.
Naomi can be found practicing yoga on glaciers, climbing walls of ice, running, hiking, sea kayaking or just sipping tea in the Alaskan rain forest.
